Fantastic Spain flights hovered over the Kingdom of Spain situated in the south west of Europe. It is on the Iberian Peninsula. Spain flights coming in from Africa crossed the Mediterranean Sea lying to the south and east of the peninsula. Spain flights coming in from the west crosses the Atlantic Ocean. To the north lies France. There are other Spain flights coming in from Portugal, also on the Iberian Peninsula. Spain after France is the second largest county in Western Europe. Its altitude is the second highest after Switzerland.
Spain is unique in that it is a constitutional monarchy but organized as democracy having an elected parliament. Since 1986 it is a part of the European Union. The interiors of the Spain flights looked plush and rich. Spain has the eighth largest economy in the world and the fifth ranker in the EU. The six most important cities are Madrid, (capital), Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Malaga and Bilbao. Spanish is the official language with Catalan, Basque as co-languages.
The Cold War made it necessary for US to have a strong base in southern Europe and Spain came into prominence. Soon it became a thriving industrial state with a booming tourism. This led to the proliferation of Spain flights to promote business and travel interests. Spain has three types of climate – Continental, Mediterranean and Oceanic. While on Spanish flights it well to know that although Spanish is the official language, Catalan, Basque and Galician are co-official ones.
Spanish flights take on and off 47 airports in Spain – some are international while others are domestic.
Madrid Barajas International Airport is the pride of the country. The town of Barajas is adjacent to it. It is served by underground and overground rail services apart from bus and taxis. It provides a vital link between Europe and Latin America. In 2007, 52 million passed through Madrid International Airport – it being the worlds 10th and Europe’s 4th busiest airport. Iberia Airlines handles 60% of the traffic.
The El Prat International airport of Barcelona is the largest in Catalonia, Spain. Vueling Airlines and Clickair handle most of the Spanish flights here. Spanair, Air Europa and Iberia Airlines also operate in El Prat. It connects Spain with Europe and North Africa. Singapore Airlines link it with the East. It is undergoing expansion. In 2007 32,800,570 passengers touched Barcelona airport.
Valencia Airport is mainly for business tourists coming to Valencia and summer visitors to Costa del Azahar. It connects with 15 European countries and registered 6 million passengers in 2007. It has one terminal, two runways and a helipad. The main carriers are Air Nostrum (Iberia’s domestic airlines) and Ryanair.
Other two important airports are Seville Airport or San Pablo International Airport and Malaga International Airport. Bilbao Airport is in Basque region – a piece of engineering marvel since it was difficult to find flat uninhabited land in this region of tall mountains.
The hills echo the drone of the plane’s engine as Spain with its history of European and Moorish culture remains etched in time.
