Manchester Flights
Manchester is the second largest city of United Kingdom. It’s a virtual powerhouse of established industries. It’s a major industrial town and dates back to the time of industrial revolution when the textile industry was in it’s hey day. Manchester is also a major commercial centre and has connections with Europe and the rest of the World. There are thousands of passengers who travel to and from Manchester.
The Manchester Airport has cheap flights to many destinations and is serviced by 85 airlines. Passengers and cargo can fly in and out of Manchester international Airport from 226 destinations. Combined the international airports of Gatwick and Heathrow offer more flights (380), but Manchester Airport is the busiest airport. There are many charter flights that also come here. There are a large number of tour operators that are present here. Many packages for flights, accommodations and attractions are offered by them.
Both leisure and business passengers come here on charter flights. There are many private jets that also come to Manchester International Airport. Greater Manchester is a landlocked county though it has the Pennines Mountain that is on the eastern side of the city. The Pennine Moors are also located here. While taking an aerial view around the county there is any ruins that can be seen on the moors. The Rivington Pike is a familiar local landmark here.
There are many natural reservoirs here that have plenty of fish and are surrounded by natural beauty. The tourists who come here tend to go to the four large reservoirs which are Anglezarke, Upper Rivington, Lower Rivington and Yarrow. This area is often known as the Little Lake District much like the Lake District. Mountain biking is extremely popular since 2002 when the Commonwealth games were held in Manchester. As you take a flight over Manchester in one of the charter flights, you can see a bunch of people on mountain bikes.
In fact the Anglezarke area has origins dating back to pre historic times. There are two prehistoric sites that are clearly visible The Pikestones and Round Loaf. However most of history dates back to the mining of coal and other materials.
Another tower that’s visible from the air is the Jubilee Tower that was built in 1898 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria’s rule. Walkers can climb this 85 feet tower. The Jumbles reservoir can also be seen from the air and is the site of the local sailing club. On a clear day, there are many kayaks and small yachts sailing in the reservoir.
Tourists are allowed to go sailing and there are many packages that are available. Go sailing or fishing in the waters after you have seen Manchester and the entire mountain ranges around the city.
Manchester also has five castles, two Roman forts and even an Iron Age fort. The castles date back to 12th century and are visited by many tourists. There are many walking tours around the castle. Take these packages when you visit Manchester.
