These trips are all enjoyable and arduous. After all, whenever you travel, things need to be learned. Unless, naturally, all you want to do is chill on tropical beaches and allow your brain to unplug for a while. In such cases, the goal would be a soft location within the sand where you can lie down and stop everything but highly vital brain activities. This would be a great thing to do whenever needed; however, beyond transporting your body from stress to relaxation, it doesn’t really count as true travel.

This brings us to the ultimate key – the secret world that is academic travel. Nobody seems to speak about this particular option. Practically unknown, and hardly advertised, typically a bargain, oftentimes adventurous, and constantly educational, this is a great way to go.
The options show a worldwide university, from the Sahara Desert to the Atacama Desert of Chile, from the Costa Rican rain forests to the Indian temples, plus a lot of the earth’s big cities. Education is always needed. You cannot travel unless you have a willingness to learn since this kind of travel is provided by colleges and universities. You will not need to study full-time in order to become a part of it; however, you will need something other than pineapple cocktails in your mind.
Trips are created and oftentimes led by members of the faculty with the ultimate goal of fully enriching the university experience of their students. Their length ranges from weeks to full semesters. Several are provided on a regular basis; this means that a choice of dates to start exists. Others only occur twice a year, if not just one. Several come with extensive travels within a region or country, while others remain in a single location and concentrate on certain locales.
Here are several examples. The prices usually include lodging, travel insurance, tuition, meals and transportation within the country. With several exceptions, airfare is not included. There might also be several other expenses.

Tennessee University. Vietnam and Thailand study tours for four weeks at $1,780; field ecology and natural history within Tasmania, Australia for three weeks at $3,100.

Costa Rica Vacation Packages had something similar up which I thought was for multiple colleges but it looks like its been taken down now. Do you have any idea about a Costa Rica discount that was applicable to multiple universities?
