Mexico for the winter
Winter approaches and the weather changes lowering the surrounding temperature in those countries that are located in the upper areas of the globe; as it happens each year, thousands flock towards the sunnier warmer southern hemisphere, one of the preferred locations: Mexico.
Mexico has suffered the stigma of being an unsafe country that offers little to no safety to visitors and tourists alike, but the truth is far from this negative advertising. Mexico is not only a safe country that offers a tight hug and all the beauties of paradise to those who come down and visit; it is also a friendly neighbor that is willing to take that extra step in making sure that everything goes well within their own countries.
For the tourists, Mexico has every climate and, in consequence, it offers a lot more than just the crispy beaches and the extreme sport that are popular and the sole attraction as they are in other countries, from the desert in Sonora, to the crystal waters in Oaxaca. So this winter time do not wonder anymore what or where you will be spending the cold hard months that will be full of snow and low temperatures, come to Mexico and enjoy the weather. Experience Mexican cuisine, just be careful with the hot sauces! More often than not, these will cause mayhem on the stomachs and digestive tracts of those new friends to Mexico who are used to the mild and almost hot-less versions of the Mexican peppers. Take a moment or a day to sample the “mole” a Mexican sauce that is made with a variety of spices and that is served with pork or chicken; it can be as spicy as the red mole, as hot as the black mole or as sweet as the Poblano mole.
But there is so much more to Mexican cuisine than this! It will take you over a year to sample all the goodies that are common to Mexicans and those that are not so common but remain deep seeded in the tradition and folklore of the Mexican people. Come and visit during the festivities of the Dead! Enjoy the wonderful mirage that Mexican graveyards present to the unfamiliar eye or come during Easter and participate in the front row with the millions that visit Mexico city during this time and engage in the representation of the Passion of Christ.
