You have decided to make that long awaited trip to rest and relax from the chaotic lifestyle that you normally have; then you probably have considered all the major things such as the destination, the days for the trip and the length of it. You probably have considered also and made the corresponding calculations as to how much money will you be needing and how much to take for unforeseen events.
Nonetheless, the smaller things are the ones that almost everyone forgets how to care and prepare for; among these things are the way to recognize your luggage from the many suitcases on the airport, bus or railroad terminals. Another problem is the way to pack; you know you need to have your bare necessities covered so when you return you do not need to undergo intensive “recovery” from your holiday recovery time, but there is more to it than just tossing things into the suitcase.
One of the things that you need to be able to do is spot your luggage from afar; so that you can prevent accidental “takings” and you loosing your suitcases and your luggage. Many magazines and other travel guides state that you should tie a ribbon to the luggage so that it can be noted from afar; sadly, there is terminal machinery that might get stuck if they catch on the ribbons so many terminal employees will simply untie the ribbons off from the luggage.
An ideal solution is to hot iron transfer patterns and other decorations to the luggage, though sometimes this is not as viable as it would be desired, especially with leather luggage. In such a case, it is advisable to have your name or initials imprinted on the luggage so that there is no chance or opportunity for a mix up or the removal of the identification method.
Packing is the next problem that should be addressed; most of us have a specific preference for a type of shampoo even though most hotels provide their guests with ravel samples of shampoo, conditioner, soap and other commodities. So if you are planning to go away for just a few days, then it might be a good idea not to bring any of these commodities with you.
If you are worried about the condition of your hair, in the local pharmacy or grocery store you will be able to purchase conditioning ampoules to use as a support of Shampoo and conditioner provided by the hotel.
If you are travelling for a longer period, then it will be a good idea to purchase on the local grocery store those that you are used to. Remember not to purchase the big economy size, so when you depart, you will not have to deal with surplus products.
Travel light in luggage, there is no need to carry several outfits and garments “just in case”, bring as many neutral outfit items as possible so you can mix them constantly.
