Vacationing if you have a large family
Taking a vacation when you have a family that consists of many members can be a very costly endeavor. In many case you may put your vacation plans on hold due to the cost but you don’t have to. With the gas prices out of control as they driving to your vacation destination would cost more than other travel means. For many, a yearly family vacation is a big deal. It is an important way for the family to do things together while they can. They get to relax and enjoy the company of their loved ones. The family vacation is just another way to escape the trials tribulations of the mundane world.
In order to handle the current financial hurdles many families will be cutting down their non essential spending by at least twenty five percent of what they have been spending. This means that the family vacation will probably have to be postponed until the financial horizon changes for the better. This is depressing, but with the right attitude and ingenuity a family – even a large one – can vacation together relatively inexpensively. We all know that large families need a vacation together in order to get a breath of fresh air to rejuvenate the family unit. Even in these expensive times a family can still pull together a budget vacation plan.
A simple vacation can be as easy as the family lounging around a pool or sitting on a beach in a remote area. Many people think that just because they have a large family they cannot have an enjoyable time out and about. Instead of trying to take your entire family to Walt Disney World try to take the entire family down the coast – not to Florida – but to North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia. They all have tremendous beaches and the cost of things is also very inexpensive. Even hotels can be cheap if you go off season or during the week because it is off peak time.
So you don’t want to travel down the coast – what about camping? You don’t need much to take the family camping and all of the equipment can be rented. Take a trip to an RV dealer and rent out a vehicle that is capable of taking everyone with you. If your camp site is several states away you save money by not needing to have to get a hotel room – and you can hook your RV up to any KOA camp ground for $10.00 a night that will give you electric and plumping. They also have showers so you can freshen up. This is also a great way to travel cross country to see the nation’s best destination. You get to cook there as well so no high cost restaurants to eat at. Camping is truly a cheap alternative to the large family retreat.
Another option for your large family trip is to look into private homes that you can rent out for a week. I will only cost a couple hundred dollars. Very inexpensive.
